Chain Specifications
Get Your Specs Right!
PITCH - Measure center-to-center on three rivets, then divide by two. Common sizes are 1/4, 3/8LP, 3/8, .325 and .404
GAUGE- This is the thickness of the drivelink, measured like it is sitting in the bar rail. Common sizes are .043, .050, .058, .063
DRIVE LINK COUNT - This is the real specification that determines length. Simply count the number of drive links of your original chain.
The jury is still out. I gave 6 chains to different customers and told them to use them and let me know what they think. Haven't heard anything back. I cut a load of ash and it worked great. Tried to dull the chain in dirty wood and it held up pretty good. After sharpening the chain it really cut fast. Haven't cut very much since sharpening, but it seemed good. I've been sharpening chains for over 40 years and these seem like good chains. Ordered another dozen and will put them to the test when the weather cools off a bit. Most of my saws are modified, so the chains get abused. I didn't have to tighten the new chains for stretch as they broke in.

Fit was great and it did great dropping/sectioning soft and hardwoods for a 3 day weekend. Time will tell how it holds up but so far very pleased.
